Please get in touch to discuss the suitability of using the gold and stones from your old jewellery piece in a new Metal and Dust piece. This is assessed on a case by case basis. Generally we will only work with customers diamonds that are high quality round cut over 2mm in size.
Please note: at this time we do not offer a fully bespoke design service. However we can normally adapt one of the Metal and Dust collection pieces to suit slightly different diamond sizes and band width preferences.
Please get in touch with images of your jewellery if it contains stones. In most cases, larger centre stones can be removed and returned to you following the recycling process. Smaller accent stones are not as easy to remove in tact and depending on what they are, may not be worth salvaging.

Recycling:
Metal and Dust recycling program invites customers to send in any old or unworn jewellery piece in exchange for a store credit to the value of that particular metal. Larger stones of value can be removed and returned to the customer prior to recycling. Smaller accent stones (other than diamonds) are not normally worth salvaging and are discarded during recycling.
Once the customer jewellery is received by Metal and Dust, the customer is provided with an accurate credit value based on the weights of jewellery. The customer will be contacted via email for approval and acceptance of this amount. A Metal and Dust store credit is issued via email at the time of customer approval. The customer's old jewellery is then sent to the metal refinery at which point we are unable to recover the jewellery in case of change of mind.
Casting with Customer Gold:
While it is generally possible to cast with a customers own gold, this method can have it's complications. Sometimes original jewellery pieces with unknown origins can be 'contaminated' or contain unknown alloys and these impurities may affect the casting result. If impurities are found to be present in the customer provided metal at the time of casting, a suitable solution will be discussed. This may mean that the customers own gold will instead be recycled in exchange for a credit toward new gold in the finished piece. Our priority is always delivering a finished piece to a high standard.
