Jewellery Care

Metal and Dust jewellery pieces are made of precious metals, which means you can wear your jewellery every day. It is common for everyday jewellery to gradually show signs of wear like small scratches, especially rings. Over time, metals may begin to tarnish and look a little dull due to body oils, moisturisers and environmental factors. This is completely normal. Here are our tips on bringing your jewellery back to life.

Care should be taken when wearing fine necklaces/ chains to avoid damage from being caught or pulled on.

Cleaning Your Jewellery
  1. Combine warm water with a few of drops of gentle dish liquid or hand soap to wash your jewellery
  2. Use a soft toothbrush to gently remove dirt and build up around diamonds and smaller details
  3. Rinse your jewellery with water before drying well
  4. Buff gently with a soft polishing cloth (take extra care when cleaning fine chains)
Avoid
  • Avoid contact with cleaning products or chemicals where possible.
  • Remove jewellery when doing harder wearing work such as gardening where jewellery may be prone to damage
  • Avoid wearing your jewellery (especially necklaces) in chlorine as this can wear away at the metal and cause breakage/ damage
  • Avoid cleaning your jewellery with toothpaste or baking soda as this can scratch and wear away your metal gradually
