All pieces are made to order in Australia. The Metal and Dust studio is based in Perth, where every part of the process (except casting) takes place. Most designs are made with the lost wax casting method, which means each piece is initially made from wax. The wax designs are then sent to Sydney where they are cast in solid gold or silver before being returned back to Metal and Dust studio. The finishing process involves filing, sanding, setting stones and polishing, all of which are completed in the Perth studio.

All Metal and Dust pieces are made to order and care is taken to ensure a high quality finished piece. Standard orders through the website ad generally made and shipped within 4-6 weeks.
The process of design and production for engagement and wedding rings can take up to 12 weeks as we will generally meet one to two times before completion. It is recommended to allow more than adequate time for these special pieces to ensure the process is not rushed.
If you require your order by a specific date, please get in touch prior to ordering.

It's important to accurately measure your ring size prior to ordering, especially for rings set with diamonds/ gemstones. These rings are more difficult to re-size once they are finished. Refer to the Ring Size Guide prior to placing your order, or get in touch directly if you need help to determine your ring size.
If your ring arrives and you feel the size is not right, please get in touch as soon as possible to assess the possibility of resizing.

Pure gold is soft and not suitable for jewellery design, so it is alloyed with other metals (such as copper, zinc, silver, palladium or platinum) to make it more durable for daily wear. Metal and Dust designs are available in both 9ct and 18ct gold. 18ct yellow gold has more of a rich yellow tone, while 9ct yellow is more subtle.
9ct Gold is 37.5% pure gold
18ct Gold is 75% pure gold
